Ms. Finn is a partner in the Trust and Estates Department at Ivins, Phillips & Barker, where she advises clients on a wide range of estate and gift tax planning matters and works on the settlement of large, complex estates. Her responsibilities include preparing integrated estate plans for her clients that incorporate lifetime gift strategies, which she implements through the drafting of wills, a variety of types of trusts, family investment entities, financial and medical powers of attorney.
Ms. Finn has established multi-generation dynasty trusts, formed and liquidated family limited liability companies, administered estates in a variety of jurisdictions, drafted and negotiated premarital agreements, provided post-mortem tax planning and represented clients before the IRS.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Finn was an associate in the Washington, DC office of Dewey Ballantine, LLP where she focused on a broad range of federal income tax issues with a particular emphasis on the federal income taxation of corporate transactions.
Ms. Finn received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999, where she was an Olin Fellow, member of the Georgetown University Law Review, named to the Order of the Coif and named to the Dean's List every semester. She received an M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University in 1993 and a B.A. in Economics, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from University of California at Irvine in 1991. Ms. Finn was admitted to the California Bar in 1999 and to the District of Columbia Bar in 2000.
