Ms. Solomon, a partner in Ivins, Phillips & Barker's Washington, D.C. office, has a national practice in employee benefits. She specializes in helping companies of all sizes with complex pension plan matters, including tax qualification issues, plan design, M&A, plan drafting, participant communications, and IRS correction procedures. Ms. Solomon has extensive experience in drafting and reviewing qualified and nonqualified plan documents of all types, including cash balance plans. She has assisted many clients with the qualified plan challenges that arise following corporate acquisitions and divestitures, and with the strategic planning associated with changes in the controlled group. She is a frequent speaker on qualified plan topics.
Ms. Solomon authored the chapter on Qualified Retirement Plans for the RIA Corporate Controller Manual (2007), and the chapters on Qualified Plans and Executive Pay for the Personnel Compliance Guide (2007). She also co-authored Gearing for Battle: Prospects for Health Reform Legislation, 13 Employee Benefit News 40 (1999). |
