office of Ivins, Phillips & Barker, Mr. Brady specializes in corporate tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, distributions, financings, restructurings, and consolidated returns. Mr. Brady has advised both public and private corporations on a number of sophisticated acquisition and disposition structures, including tax-free mergers, tender offers, going-private transactions, and cross-border joint ventures. Mr. Brady also has extensive experience in spin-offs and split-offs, including spin-offs attendant to mergers, joint ventures, and private equity investments; and split-offs involving publicly-traded corporations.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brady was a Senior Manager in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in the Washington National Tax office of KPMG LLP, where he specialized in corporate tax matters. Prior to joining KPMG, Mr. Brady was an associate in the tax group of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. Prior to law school, Mr. Brady was a research analyst at the Office of Federal Tax Services of Arthur Andersen LLP, where he specialized in transfer pricing and other tax valuation matters.
Mr. Brady received his J.D. from
Yale Law School
in 1999, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. He received his A.B. in Economics, magna cum laude, from
Georgetown University
, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Brady is a member of the bar in the State of Maryland and the
District of Columbia
. Mr. Brady also has served as an adjunct professor at George Mason University School of Law, where he teaches corporate taxation.
