Mr. Caywood is an associate with Ivins, Phillips & Barker where he advises clients on a wide range of corporate and international tax matters, as well as employee benefits matters. His corporate and international tax practice consists of cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and restructurings; inbound and outbound investment; tax treaties; foreign tax credit, subpart F, and foreign currency issues; research credit issues; and partnership tax issues. His employee benefit practice consists of day-to-day compliance issues, such as assisting with implementation of new legislation and regulations, filing determination letter applications for qualified plans, filing under the IRS voluntary correction program ("VCP") when glitches arise in plan operations, and helping qualified plan committees monitor plan investments and plan vendors.
After receiving a B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Utah and serving as an Americorps VISTA volunteer in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Caywood received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He is currently enrolled in Georgetown University Law Center's LL.M. program in taxation.
