In an age of mega law firms and consolidation, IPB remains one of the few independent tax and employee benefits specialty law firms.  We continue to thrive because we are focused on:

  • Service. We aim to answer your questions quickly and efficiently without overdoing the work.  No question is too narrow for us to answer, and we know our clients value our responsiveness and practical guidance.
  • Expertise. IPB’s model is designed to get you the right expert for your specific question, issue, or transaction.  We reject the “territoriality” that plagues many larger law firm practices.  Other firms’ “eat what you kill” pay approach pits colleagues against one another and can prevent clients from getting the benefit of the right expert.
  • Unbiased Representation.  Employee benefits is an increasingly outsourced space.  We represent employers.  Many of our competitors represent insurance companies, third-party administrators, financial services firms, and other entities that service employer plans.  The fact that our practice is focused on the employer side means that we zealously represent employers and their plans without conflict.
  • Partnership. We focus on your needs, to partner with you and your colleagues in achieving the company’s goals.  We regularly and comfortably work alongside other service providers, recognizing the different expertise and value each of us brings to our roles.
  • Flexibility. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach.  We are nimble in how we approach issues.  Sometimes a client wants a “turn over every rock” kind of answer, and sometimes a client just wants a quicker “pretty sure” response.  It depends on how much is riding on the question.  We understand that.
