Matthew advises clients on a wide range of tax planning and controversy issues.

Matthew’s practice covers a diverse array of tax matters. His recent representations include advising a Fortune 500 company on accelerated deductions for domestic R&E expenditures; preparing tax opinions with respect to tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act worth over $100 million; and successfully securing the abatement of tax reporting penalties asserted by the IRS against a large multinational client.
Matthew received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an Executive Editor of the Virginia Journal of Law & Technology, as a Legal Research & Writing Fellow, and as a Peer Advisor to first-year law students. Before law school, Matthew helped manage a small business in Washington, D.C.
