At Ivins, Phillips & Barker, diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values and business imperatives. As a national boutique tax law firm, we are committed to increasing the pipeline of diverse talent into the legal profession and particularly the tax, benefits and compensation, and estate planning bars. We believe in fostering a supportive firm environment in which all lawyers can thrive as their authentic selves. Our small size and specialized expertise allow our attorneys at every level to contribute meaningfully to client service and other aspects of firm life, all of which are enriched by diverse experiences and backgrounds.
We are proud to announce the launch of the new Ivins, Phillips & Barker Diversity Scholars Program. The Program welcomes applications from all first-year law students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, a record of academic achievement, and an interest in exploring careers in our practice areas. Members of groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession are encouraged to apply. Applicants for the 2023 Diversity Scholars Program must submit application materials between December 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, while enrolled in their first year of law school. One Diversity Scholar will be selected in early 2023 and will complete a paid 2023 summer associate position at the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
