IPB Attorneys Offer Tax Strategies to Entrepreneurs in Creative Fields

Benjamin L. Grosz and Jonathan L. Holbrook co-taught a tax strategies class on April 10, as part of the “Business of the Arts – Professional Development Series,” a collaboration between Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts (WALA) and the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH). The presentation, entitled "Tax Strategies for Entrepreneurs," focused on income tax basics and business tax issues such as when your hobby becomes a business in the eyes of the IRS, and how to identify eligible deductions.
