Ivins Attorneys Teach Pro Bono Tax Class
PDFBenjamin L. Grosz and Jonathan L. Holbrook co-presented a pro bono program on tax strategies for artistic entrepreneurs in the D.C. area. The presentation was part of the Creative Entrepreneurs Series put on by Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts (WALA) in partnership with the Alexandria Office of the Arts, the Torpedo Factory Arts Center, Arlington Arts and ArtsFairfax. The Creative Entrepreneurs Series addresses the needs of creatives who are starting, running, and growing their own businesses.
The presentation concentrated on federal income tax issues including legal entity selection, payroll taxes, coronavirus relief provisions and other tax planning considerations for artists in various disciplines. The two Ivins attorneys were joined on the program by Benjamin Takis (Founding Attorney, Takis Nonprofit Law PLLC), with whom they have previously put on similar programs.
Ivins, Phillips & Barker is proud to support the pro bono efforts of our attorneys, in addition to our long-standing financial support of the D.C. Bar Foundation and the Legal Aid Society.
